Privacy policy
In short: Keepsign PDF doesn’t collect any data. It has no account, no analytics, no ads and no server of its own. Your documents, signatures and certificates stay on your devices, or in your own iCloud if you choose. The few features that use the network are listed below, and each one starts only when you use it.
This policy covers the Keepsign PDF app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, Keepsign PDF for Teams, and this website, keepsignpdf.com. “We” means the developer of Keepsign PDF. Contact: support@keepsignpdf.com.
The app
What we collect
Nothing. We don’t receive your documents, your signatures, your certificates, what you type, or how you use the app. There are no analytics or crash-reporting services inside Keepsign, and nothing is used to track you across apps or websites.
What stays on your device
- Your documents are opened, edited, converted, recognised (OCR), compressed and checked on the device. Nothing is uploaded for processing.
- Saved signatures and initials and My Info (the details you choose to keep for forms) are stored in the device’s keychain.
- Digital ID certificates are stored in the keychain of that device and are never synced.
- The recovery journal, which lets Keepsign recover changes after an unexpected quit, is encrypted, kept inside the app, excluded from backups and deleted after 30 days if unused.
- Save receipts and versions live inside your PDF files and in the app.
- Spotlight and Shortcuts: to let you find PDFs by their content, Keepsign adds them to the on-device Spotlight index. You can turn this off in Settings.
- A few counters for the app itself, such as how many free Pro tries are left and which screens were shown, are stored on the device and never leave it.
On-device AI
Ask, Summary, Dates and deadlines, Invoices and the other AI tools use Apple’s on-device model. Your text is not sent to us or to anyone else. Apple’s own Writing Tools can send text to Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, which apps can’t prevent; for that reason they start switched off in Keepsign’s document windows and are only on if you turn them on. Apple’s handling is described in Apple’s privacy policy.
What uses Apple’s services
- iCloud Drive: if you keep PDFs in the Keepsign folder in iCloud Drive, Apple stores and syncs them in your iCloud account.
- iCloud Keychain: if you turn on signature sync, Apple syncs your saved signatures and My Info between your devices, end-to-end encrypted.
- Handoff: to continue on another device, the document’s name, location and page pass between devices signed in to your Apple Account, through Apple.
- Purchases: Apple processes the purchase of Keepsign Pro, Family Sharing and refunds. Keepsign only learns whether Pro is active. It never sees your payment details. Restoring purchases contacts the App Store.
- Translation uses Apple’s system translation, which may download language files from Apple.
Network requests you start
- Check online (in the signature verifier): when you tap it, Keepsign asks the certificate issuer’s servers listed in the certificate whether it was revoked (OCSP or CRL). That request includes the certificate’s serial number, not your document. It may also download the European Union’s public list of trusted providers from ec.europa.eu.
- PDF from a web page: Keepsign loads the address you type, as a browser would.
- Sharing: when you share, send or save a document to another app or service, it goes where you send it, under that service’s policy.
Permissions
- Camera: only while you scan a document. Images go into the PDF you’re making.
- Photos: only the images you pick.
- Reminders: only to add a deadline you choose from a document. Nothing else is read or changed. Calendar events are added through the system’s own editor, which doesn’t give Keepsign access to your calendar.
On managed devices
If your organization manages your device, it can set some Keepsign options (for example, turning off iCloud or AI). On managed devices Keepsign also tells the management system how many saves failed and why, as codes such as “write-failed”. That report never includes file names or anything from a document. Your organization’s own policy covers what it does with it.
This website
keepsignpdf.com uses no cookies, no advertising and no third-party trackers. Fonts and images are served from this site.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses and technical request data to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
The “tell me when it’s out” list
If you leave your email address to be told when Keepsign is available, we store that address, the language of the page and the date, in a database at Cloudflare. We use it to send you one email when Keepsign is out, and then we delete the list. We don’t share it or use it for anything else. To have your address removed before then, write to support@keepsignpdf.com from that address.
Your choices and rights
Because the app doesn’t send us personal data, there is nothing about you on our side to access, correct or delete, except the email address you may have given on this website. Data in the app can be deleted by deleting the app; data in iCloud is managed in your Apple Account settings. You can contact us about any privacy question at support@keepsignpdf.com.
Children
Keepsign isn’t directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If the app ever starts doing something with data that this page doesn’t describe, we’ll update this page first and change the date at the top.
