Scan paper into a PDF you can search.
Point your iPhone at a page. Keepsign finds the edges, straightens it and recognises the text on the device, so you can search it, copy it, and find it later in Spotlight.

Make old scans searchable.
A scanned PDF from years ago is just pictures of pages. Make searchable adds an invisible text layer under each page, so search, copy and Spotlight work, and the pages look exactly as before.
Recognising the text of an existing PDF is part of Keepsign Pro. It runs on your device, for whole folders too with batch jobs.

Questions
Is scanning with text recognition free?
Yes. Every scan you make in Keepsign comes out with searchable text, free. Pro is for adding text to PDFs that already exist.
Is the text recognition done online?
No. It uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework. Your pages are not uploaded.
How big will the PDF be?
Scans can be large. Ready to send compresses a copy to a size you choose. Our guide on compressing a PDF for email explains the limits of Gmail and Outlook and what to remove first.
